another night on the town

it's the 3rd day of my free week and I've spent the last two days cooped up at home, watching a few chick flicks and gossip girl. Tonight I will farewell a dear friend as she moves to the other side of the country for the summer. Sad but a great excuse to drunk right? hopefully the night won't end with me leaning over a toilet bowl. ATM I'm loving able to blog on my iPhone with the 'blogger' app .. So worth getting if your always on the run. anyway I've picked out what I'm wearing tonight and am pleased to say I haven't bought a whole new outfit like I'd usually do but instead put together a few pieces I already own.. no one really remembers what I wear anyway.. Everyones too drunk :p no driving tonight either .. I will be catching the bus which sounds a bit tacky but definitely safer :) I stopped with the green tea stuff by the way.. Made my tummy feel really uneasy .. Maybe have it as a once a week kind of thing? xoxo jess kash

fashion frenzy!

So I have this entire week free! Truly grateful. Haven't had a whole week off since I was out of work completely. it's nice to switch careers with a bit of a holiday in between. Thought I'd grab some clothes for work today. So I spent an hour selecting items that I could mix and match and wear a few times, picked out shoes and jewelry only to find that my payroll number wasn't ready and so I cud not get my employee discount .. Talk about gutted! perhaps I should have asked before obsessing over the clothes! I dislike being the newbe .. Though it's an awesome job, I feel awkward and uncomfortable .. I'm sure it won't last long. Just the downers of starting from scratch. So maybe I will be spending the week brushing up on my sales skills before induction on Saturday. Tips for inductions would include taking a pen and notebook for notes obviously - this is to show your willingness to learn and will help you become an active listener (read this tip in a sales book) also never interrupt or express opinions at this point unless asked to share. it's awkward and no one likes a know-it-all. It just makes you seem intimidating and other staff wont like the competition.At this point it's important to blend in and act like youre part of the crowd, plenty of time later to express individual passion for your job. I've absolutely no progress on my book.. I'm trying to write and if your stuck to I've heard the trick is too never stop writing because it's hard to find your place again >< ATM I'm developing characters so I haven't started on the storyline .. All those episodes of gossip girl are eating into my time.. May be i'll start writing again tomorrow? xoxo jess kash
